“The National Infrastructure Bank 'Moonshot': Hiring and Training a Workforce

for 21st Century Jobs”

Ohio Representative Lisa Sobecki and Pennsylvania Representative Joe Ciresi were joined by a distinguished panel for a webinar on April 9 entitled “The National Infrastructure Bank 'Moonshot': Hiring and Training a Workforce for 21st Century Jobs”.

The webinar focussed on the challenge of assimilating tens of millions of new employees into high-paying jobs in infrastructure projects.

Complementing the Biden jobs plan announced March 31, a new National Infrastructure Bank (NIB) will create 25 million new jobs and launch a training program not seen since the Great Depression and the WWII economic mobilization. The NIB will pay Davis-Bacon wages and collaborate with trade unions and other institutions to create a skilled workforce on a par with any other nation. That workforce will be able to immediately handle entry-level positions in construction and repair and be quickly upgraded to work on the most advanced projects including High-Speed Rail, transmission lines, broadband implementation, water desalination, and power projects. Let's shoot for the moon!

Please join this provocative and educational webinar.

"The National Infrastructure Bank Will Rebuild American Industry"

A new $5 trillion National Infrastructure Bank (NIB) will rebuild American industry, with no new taxes and no new debt. This webinar demonstrates how the NIB will spark a massive increase in U.S. manufacturing. High- Speed Rail and passenger rail systems will impact development of the U.S. steel industry, cement industry, machine tools, bearings, brakes, compressors and a myriad of other components. The same is true of road and bridge construction, drinking water and wastewater systems, total broadband coverage and the entire panoply of infrastructure needs. The United States will be back in business with a Made in America policy. We will create 25 million new jobs, paying Davis-Bacon wages and apprentice programs for the new workforce. Heavy industry, contractors, and operators will be overwhelmed with work.

The National Infrastructure Bank, as embodied in HR 6422, solves the dilemma of “how to pay” with no new federal spending and no new taxes! The new Bank will fix our infrastructure and restart American industry.

Webinar, January 14, 2021- "The Better Angels of Our Nature"

In the spirit of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt join with elected officials and labor leaders to make the National Infrastructure Bank the basis of a bi-partisan collaboration to unify and rebuild our nation.

On the eve of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, the Coalition for a National Infrastructure Bank sponsored a webinar urging congress to create a $5 trillion National Infrastructure Bank. This Bank would establish the needed new bi-partisanship and build everything the nation has foregone over the past decades and create 25 million new, high-paying, jobs in the process. Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt utilized similar institutions to address comparable crises. State legislatures and city governments across the country are now convening and sending resolutions to congress in support of this policy. It is time for congress, both parties concurring, to do their part and start the reconstruction.

“We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.” President Abraham Lincoln’s First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1861
