The Coalition for the National Infrastructure Bank made great strides in 2020 in building a groundswell of support for the $4 Trillion National Infrastructure Bank. On March 31, 2020, our grassroots mobilization carried over into Washington DC, and we got a bill introduced into the U.S. Congress, H.R. 6422. Since then, activists from around the nation have generated resolutions of support for the legislation from state legislatures, labor unions and grassroots organizations. Simultaneously, we kicked off a series of national webinars beginning at the Democratic Convention. As a result, we are uniquely positioned to have a major impact in the new administration. In the past two weeks, we have had two official meetings with the Biden Transition Team and more behind the scenes. In December, the Coalition received official status as a 501 (c) (4) with the IRS. We are beginning the New Year by sponsoring two webinars and we will have more to follow. This intervention is crucial to ensure that President Joe Biden’s first 100 days moves in a positive direction.
